Gianclaudio Caretta (Taranto, September 25, 1993), is an Italian actor.
Born and raised in Puglia, land that he loves, he is in fact very much tied to his family and his native city. He graduated from high school and simultaneously played tennis at a competitive level. After high school, he worked as a road side assistance technician.
Pursuing his passion in acting led him to Rome where he attended the Natalia Florenskaja’s “Artedattore” School of Dramatic Arts.
Over the years he has studied and mastered various acting method’s in Italy and America with Ivana Chubbuck, Bernard Hiller and Paul Haggis.
Thanks to the thriller “DIABOLIKA” in foreign language, he receives at the “VII INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL COMMITMENT AWARD” the “Star of Merit” as “Young Starring Actor in an International Movie”.
Then he plays in “L’ULTIMO APPLAUSO”, directed by Clyde Anderson AKA Claudio Fragasso.
He later starred in the short film “BELLO DI MAMMA TUA” for which he was awarded “Best Actor” at the “FILM FESTIVAL TERRA DI SIENA”.
In 2016, he wins the “RAF VALLONE NATIONAL CINEMATOGRAPHY AWARD” in Tropea, as “Actor Revelation of the Year”.
He also receives the special mention: “Brilliant and young actor of the Italian and American Film Industry” at the “VIII CULTURE AND SOLIDARITY AWARD”.
In 2017 in the film “SCARLETT” plays a plainclothes policeman involved in an absurd affair.
He conducts a workshop on “Investigative journalism” at Dal Verme theatre in Milan; Among the guests: “Quarto Grado”, “Le Iene” and “Striscia la notizia”.
At the begin of 2018 he’s co-protagonist of the movie “ED È SUBITO SERA” with Franco Nero and Gianluca Di Gennaro, based on a true story of the young Dario Scherillo. In 2019, the Italian Premiere was at “Camera dei deputati” and the World Premiere was at “Tcl Chinese Theatres” – Hollywood CA.
He hosts the event “The Rights and Duties of civilization” by the Vice President of the Constitutional Court Marta Cartabia.
In 2019 he starred in “MORS TUA VITA MEA” by Alessandro Prete, identifying himself as a young father with a problematic life.
He is then a disabled homosexual in the comedy “LA GOCCIA E IL MARE”, a short film directed by Daniele Falleri, winner of “FESTIVAL TULIPANI DI SETA NERA – RAI CINEMA”.
Gianclaudio and Carlotta Antonelli go back to the 60’s in “ARIDA”, a fairy tale of love and bullying, directed by Francesco Maria Dominedò, winner of “TERRA DI SIENA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL”.
Later he plays Stefano De Torres in “IL GIORNO PIU” by Valter D’Errico, produced by Jo Champa and Susan Rockefeller. The story of a boy with solid principles, who will have to deal with his own psyche, in total antithesis of appearance. Winner of “TAORMINA FILM FESTIVAL” and “PREMIO CAMOMILLA 2019”.
For the “International day against Women’s violence”, with a monologue on the Italian tv “Rai 1” he interprets the “Letter of Carmine Ammirati to his mother”, a victim of femicide. In December 2019, he was awarded the “LEX ET ARS PRIZE” for his commitment on this subject.
In 2020 he will be Robbi, a full-bodied but also demanding robot, starring of the comedy “L’UOMO PERFETTO”. Directed by Diego Ruiz, on tour in Italian theaters from January to March.
For the past 2 years, Gianclaudio has been training at the “Acting Lab Studio”, a permanent laboratory of Alessandro Prete in Rome.
